Our practice

Stumps gone, ground ready to replant.

A stump left in place is a trip hazard, a termite invitation, and a permanent block on new planting or paving. Our compact grinders reach through side gates, around pools, and into the tightest North Shore backyards — grinding the stump and major roots to 20–30cm below turf level.

We clean up every chip, fill the hole with topsoil on request, and leave the site ready for lawn, garden bed, or new hardscape.

What's included

Every stump, fully handled.

Flat pricing per stump with volume discount for multiple. Itemised, no surprises.

  3. Step 03

The grinder goes in, the stump comes out to 20–30cm below turf, roots traced.

  5. Step 05

Client voices

What stump grinding clients say.

Three recent notes from North Shore families we worked with.

5 out of 5 stars

Grinding out three stumps in the back yard. Got three quotes, they were the middle one but seemed the most switched on. Turned up on time, did the job in a couple of hours, cleaned up after. Price was what we agreed on.

Lane Cove

5 out of 5 stars

Had a huge gum leaning over the back of the house that we'd been worried about for ages. John came out, talked us through the options, and his crew had it down in a morning. Fair price and they swept the deck on the way out which was a nice touch.

Chatswood

5 out of 5 stars

Storm took out half our liquidambar Thursday night. Called first thing Friday, they had someone here before lunch. Blocked the driveway off, cleared the debris, left it tidy. Sent the quote through before they started which I appreciated.

Questions

Stump grinding — frequently asked.

  • 20–30cm below turf level for standard residential stumps. Deeper on request if you’re planning a paving or foundation that needs more clearance.

  • Almost always. Our tight-access grinders fit through a 750mm side gate. We check access during the site visit so there are no surprises.

  • Your call — we remove everything in the truck, spread the grindings on-site as free mulch for your garden beds, or backfill the hole with topsoil (optional extra).

  • Small stumps under 30cm diameter typically $150–$300 each. Larger stumps $300–$700. Bundle of 3+ gets per-stump volume discount. Every quote is firm and itemised.

  • No — stump grinding on a stump from a previously removed tree is maintenance work and does not require a permit. If you need both the tree removed and the stump ground, we handle both under one TPO permit.
